World Humanitarian Day

World Humanitarian Day is held every year on 19th August to pay tribute to aid workers who risk their lives in humanitarian service, and to rally support for people affected by crises around the world.

Over 130 million people throughout the world are currently in crisis, either through war or natural disasters and are in need of humanitarian aid. Organisations worldwide honour this day in a range of ways from fundraisers to lectures and other events all aimed at raising awareness.
